2023 Winter Trip - Day 2

Continuing on from Twin Falls, ID, we passed into Utah to Moab as we make are scheduled first locale stop in Albuquerque. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor icy roads, each of which we faced today, will keep us from our appointed destination.

A couple of salient observations:

1) It's still cold. Our quest for warmth and reduced inclement weather is still in progress

2) Arches National Park is gorgeous. This one photo shows just a snippet of its grandness:

One of the many views (ignore amateur level stitching job)

Beer note: Utah has some very good craft beer and lousy beer buying rules. Anything over 5% ABV can only be sold at liquor stores or served in a bar. I had a Unita Baba Organic Black Lager that was very tasty.

This should be our last hotel room stay for a while. Tomorrow night will be in a real ABnB place. Yea!

Goin' South - Day 1

We're off!

It was an early start (5 am), a long cold drive that included a brief snow a couple times through Washington and Oregon, stopping for the day in Twin Falls. Today was all about making mileage, not scenic stops. The only stops were for intake (food, coffee), and output (use your imagination) for humans and dogs alike. If the dogs could talk they would be asking, "Are we there yet?" at least once an hour.

The one notable food and beer stop was Koto Brewing Co. that has excellent brew and very good Asian fusion grub. Cathy's smoked coconut tofu sammie was very tasty and I enjoyed a ahi poke salad. A sampler of three IPA's, strong ale, and winter ale went down nicely.
